The quality process ability of our bioplastic resin is a special characteristic when compared to other bioplastics. Whether you are seeking high throughput in extrusion or ease of demoulding with injection moulding: the process ability is always one of our main focuses when developing resins while maintaining the bio-character of the materials.

Bags
Bags

Bio-Flex® bags have a variety of features. One of our most popular resins used for bags is our Bio-Flex® F 1130. Bags made using this resin are flexible and highly stretchable (wall thickness down to 8 μm). Alternatively, using our Bio-Flex® F 2110 to produce bags creates a finished product comparable to HDPE. In addition, bags made from Bio-Flex® F 2110 are very transparent and have an elegant surface gloss.

Due to the high transparency, the bags can also be excellently colored. A coronary treatment for printing e.g. in offset or flexo-printing is not required for any of the Bio-Flex films. For printing, solvent-containing or water-based printing inks can be used.

Waste bags
Waste bags

Biodegradable waste bags from Bio-Flex® have a much greater moisture barrier than other bioplastics. This is due to the fact that Bio-Flex® does not contain starch or starch derivatives. Organic waste releases moisture during collection within the container. With Bio-Flex®, this moisture remains in the bag and does not leachate into the dustbin.

In addition to our compostable Bio-Flex® grades, we also offer you a bio-based Green PE for the production of waste bags. Especially Green LDPE STN 7006 or Green HDPE SGM 9450F grades are most suitable for such bags.

Garment/ Apparel Bags
Garment Bags

Compostable Garment/ Apparel Bags from Bio-Flex® have a much better moisture barrier than other bioplastics because of the fact that Bio-Flex® does not contain any starch or starch derivatives. Best contact transparency with elegant surface gloss, high output and smooth processability, adequate & long-lasting side seal strength are the prime advantages of Bio-Flex made compostable Garment bags for Garment packaging.

It also provides good stiffness for ease of insertion of Garment along with effective Bar Code scanning. Other attributes like in-line adhesive tape insertion on it, excellent printing effects & good tensile, tear & impact strength makes it perfect replacement for LDPE Garment bags for sustainable Garment packaging.

In addition to our compostable Bio-Flex® grades, we also offer you a Green PE compound, Terralene for the production of compostable apparel bags.

Nursery/ Grow Bags
Nursery / Grow Bags

Grow Bags made from Bio-Flex® resins have the advantage that they do not biodegrade too quickly during their protective function as a bag in contact with Soil with seedling/ plant. Since in Bio-Flex resins, starch or starch derivatives are not used, Grow bags made from Bio-Flex® resins are less sensitive to moisture and variations in weather, thus making it more durable.

For Compostable Grow bags made from Bio-Flex FX 1130, there is no need to discard bag during transplantation. Also good breathability gives proper air and moisture for root development. So compostable grow/ nursery bag made from Bio-Flex FX 1130 is an ideal alternative for sustainable nurseries.

Courier bags

Compostable courier/ mailer bags from Bio-Flex resins offers matt finish and silky feel which will complement the luxury of product being packed whilst being eco-friendly. Bio-flex resins ensures waterproof, tough & durable courier/ mailer bag due to its excellent moisture barrier being free from starch or starch derivatives.

Durable side seal strength and reliable bond with adhesive glue strip will be the special attributes of mailer bags made from Bio-Flex resins.

Ensure to remove all labels and adhesive strip if made from plastic prior to disposal for composting.

We offer Home compostable as well as industrial compostable Bio-Flex grades for manufacturing Courier/ mailer bags.

Agricultural mulch film
Agricultural mulch film

Mulch films made from Bio-Flex® excel due to their ease of machinability and ground laying compatibility. Mulch films made from Bio-Flex® have the advantage that they do not biodegrade too quickly during their protective function on the surface of the field. However, they do biodegrade steadily once ploughed into the soil after use.

A further advantage is that there is no starch or starch derivatives used, which makes a mulch film made from Bio-Flex® less sensitive to moisture and variations in weather, thus making it more durable.

Hygienic film
Hygienic film

For use as diaper backsheet or femcare products.The unique combination of breathability while maintaining a barrier to water vapour is particularly suitable for the production of diaper back sheet and other similar hygiene products. Bio-Flex® F 1130 has a pleasing, soft feel even though it has been produced as blown film. With films made from polyethylene such a smooth surface can only be produced by using an embossed cast film.

PLA Lined paper cups

Bio-Flex resin coated paper cups would be not only disposable but also truly compostable. Bio-Flex resin can be coated on the same equipment of LDPE coating & Bio-Flex lined paper cups can be formed on the same paper cup machine used for forming LDPE lined paper cups, so it’s drop in solution.

Bio-Flex resin coating will demonstrate adequate bonding strength with cup stock board & good sealing property as that of LDPE coating.

We offer industrial compostable grades of Bio-Flex for coating on cup stock board. For the controlled & stable flow, mix of Bio-Flex resin, F 6510 & F 6514 is recommended.

Paper/ Board Coating
Paper / Board Coating

For the production of extrusion-coated paper/ board, you have the possibility to use a compostable resin from the Bio-Flex® family or a bio-based Green PE compound resin from the Terralene® family. Dependent upon how your product will be disposed off, one or the other solution is recommended.

For the controlled & stable flow, mix of Bio-Flex resin, F 6510 & F 6514 is recommended. You can coat min. 18 Gsm upto 30 Gsm or more depending of bonding requirement with the base paper/ board. Bio-Flex resin coating will demonstrate adequate bonding strength with base paper/ board & good sealing property as that of LDPE coating.

Cutlery

Being single use plastic (SUP) item, disposable cutlery (Spoon, Fork, Knife & chop stick) should be biodegradable & compostable now in various countries for which Bio-Flex resins are the most preferred options due to proper injection moulding & adequate strength and stiffness as per the requirement and choice.

FKuR's product portfolio includes a large number of injection moulding grades for disposable cutleries that are biobased, biodegradable or industrially compostable.

Tablewares
Tablewares

For the production of variety of disposable tableware items like plates, bowls, trays, glasses etc, we have a comprehensive portfolio of bio-based, biodegradable and compostable resins which are drop-in solutions for sheet extrusion & thermoforming process. If you need transparent trays and shells, we recommend the use of our partially bio-based PET or pure PLA. However, if you want to produce a biodegradable and better heat-resistant tableware, we recommend the use of Bio-Flex® F 6611.

It consists of more than 60% renewable raw materials, is biodegradable and compostable and heat-resistant up to 70 °C thus suitable for cold beverages as well as warm food items.

For the production of transparent blister packaging, we currently offer two products: on the one hand a partially bio-based PET and on the other hand a biodegradable PLA. Both products are distinguished by their high transparency.

Nettings
Nettings

Nettings should be biodegradable or purely bio-based, depending on the application. We have both options for you in our portfolio. For the production of bio-based nettings, we recommend the use of Green HDPE SHE 150. If you are looking for a biodegradable solution, Bio-Flex® F 2110 is especially recommended because it has a strong toughness and a good restoring force. With Bio-Flex® you can produce both extruded and knitted nettings.

Laminates
Laminates

The combination of different substrates like paper, foil & various plastic films usually serves to meet the high requirements of a packed product, such as certain barrier values, stiffness, high end printing etc. Depending on the requirements you want to achieve, we have the most diverse Bioplastics within our portfolio. All the alternatives as per your choice will ensures smooth lamination & excellent heat seal performance on Form Fill & Seal (FFS) machines.

This may be a partially bio-based PET, a bio-based PE or even a biodegradable/ compostable plastic such as Bio-Flex®. The possibility of combinations is diverse. Please contact us for more information.

Bottles & Canisters
Bottles & Canisters

For the production of bottles and canisters using a blow moulding process, we offer different products from our Green PE range. Especially Green HDPE SGF 4950 or SGF 4960 are recommended. As a "drop-in" solution all Green PE grades can be processed like conventional polyethylene. Recycling of Green PE is comparable to conventional polyethylene; Green PE is 100% recyclable.

Caps and closures can be made from various bio-based or biodegradable FKuR bioplastics. Undercuts and film hinges are also possible with our plastics. Some grades are characterized by a special ratio of stiffness and elasticity, even for complex forms. Below you can see which of our bioplastics are suitable for caps and closures.
